The MOON P5.3 Preamplifier follows in the footsteps of the legendary and award-winning P-5.
Representing a complete overhaul of earlier MOON Classic series preamplifiers, it employs numerous
technologies from our Evolution series; Call it "trickle down technology" if you will - the audio
circuitry is based on the MOON P-7 preamplifer. Featuring five line-level inputs, a user-configurable
“home-theater ready” input, an IR input for external control and a 12V trigger for convenient operation,
the MOON P5.3 Preamplifier offers a level of sonic performance and flexibility that the competition
can only hint at. Raising the bar even further, an optional internal phono preamp is available with
adjustments for gain level as well as capacitance and resistance loading. The bottom line is a balanced stereo
preamplifier that is virtually impossible to beat at its respective pricepoint.

Significant Design Features
An oversized power supply ·
3 stages of DC voltage regulation ·
An exceptionally short signal path measuring only 10 inches in length from the rear
panel's input to output connectors, yielding a much faster transient response ·
Open loop zero feedback circuit topology using absolutely no capacitors anywhere in the audio signal path ·
Power supply voltage regulation includes Evolution series i2DCf (Independant Inductive DC Filtering); There is one inductor dedicated
to each integrated circuit type component (DAC, Op-Amp, etc.) in the audio circuit’s signal path - 14 stages in all ·
J-FET input devices ·
One single-ended audio input, of your choice, which functions as a “pass-through”, bypassing the gain stage to accommodate
a component such as a home-theater processor, whose own volume control is used instead ·
Accurate matching of the very finest high quality electronic components ·
IR input for external control (all discrete codes) ·
A symmetrical circuit design ·
Four-layer PCB tracings; The advantages include better ground and power supply circuit layouts resulting in a much shorter
signal path and dramatically improved signal-to-noise ratio ·
Pure copper circuit board tracings with extremely low impedance characteristics ·
Extremely rigid chassis construction to minimize the effects of external vibrations ·
Improved reliabilty through the elimination of moving parts ·
Designed to be powered up at all times for optimal performance ·
Low operating temperature for a longer than normal life expectancy.

Overseas MOON P5.3 RS
The RS series of MOON audio components benefit from an even higher standard of manufacturing process
than the regular MOON versions. All significant differences are contained within the circuitry and construction
of each model.
RS versions are built using different materials and parts in certain areas. For example, printed
circuit boards are of a higher temperature grade than that of the military specification FR-4 material
we normally use; Their traces are gold-plated instead of a tin/lead composite. As well, all capacitors
use improved dielectric materials.
MOON RS models meet and/or exceed stricter manufacturing processes as required to pass many
international safety standards such as those imposed by the E-U, Japan and South Korea. Cosmetically, the
ONLY difference is the RS logo on the front panel.
