Simaudio launches the MOON Nova CD Player

Simaudio Ltd. proudly announces the introduction of the MOON Nova CD Player, our newest addition to the MOON Audio Reference series of audio components. Based on the well established MOON Eclipse CD Player, the Nova delivers "audiophile" performance in a more affordable package. Imagine the MOON Eclipse in a single chassis with an on-board power supply, a front-loading transport mechanism and single-ended digital & analog audio circuitry; the result is the MOON Nova.

Significant Design Features:

• Separate digital & analog power supplies using two independent toroidal transformers.
• Seven stages of voltage regulation.
• Philips-based transport mechanism with in-house developed software.
• All digital and analog audio circuitry mounted on a single circuit board, each with their own respective ground plane, to minimize signal path lengths and eliminate any potential for interference and signal degradation.
• Accurate 25ppm digital clocking system for exceptionally low intrinsic jitter levels.
• Capacitor-free signal path using a DC servo circuit.
• Proprietary 6dB/octave analog filter identical to the circuit found in the Eclipse.
• BurrBrown DF1704 digital filter with 8X oversampling.
• Two precision-matched 24-bit/96-kHz BurrBrown PCM1704-j DACs.
• Internal upsampling which achieves 24-bit/352.8kHz resolution.
• Program, Scan and Random play modes.
• Repeat function for entire disc, single track and programmed selections.
• Full-function bi-directional RS-232 port control and status.
• Extremely rigid chassis design, common to Simaudio MOON components, which minimizes the effects of sonically degrading external vibrations.
• Pure copper circuit board tracings with low impedance characteristics.
• Accurate matching of the finest high quality electronic components.
