MOON ROCK
Mono-block Power Amplifier
Simaudio Ltd. proudly announces the introduction of the MOON ROCK mono-block amplifier, our newest addition to the MOON Audio Reference
series of audio components. With a strong emphasis on both form and finish, this amplifier includes a customized 2 inch thick solid granitebase and an anodized top cover.
The physical appearance of the ROCK only tells part of the story. Using 32 precision matched fully decoupled Bipolar output devices
and a power supply employing 2 proprietary 1.1KVa torodial transformers in conjunction with capacitance of 282,000 microfarads, the MOON ROCK
can generate a very high current output to a maximum continuous power rating of 1000 watts into 8 ohms and 2000 watts into 4 ohms. The result is an amplifier capable of driving virtually
any model of loudspeaker on the market today.
Significant Design Features:
Fully balanced differential circuitry throughout the entire amplifier.
A custom proprietary toroidal transformer design with lower magnetic, electrical and thermal loss, yielding an improved power transfer and lower regulation factor, resulting in increased current speed and better dynamics.
Mechanical grounding accomplished through the use of an exceptionally heavy solid granite base.
Class A output to 20 watts for greater efficiency.
An oversized power supply.
A high damping factor which provides for superior musical dynamics, improved signal speed and refined timbre accuracy.
Accurate matching of the highest quality electronic components to tolerances of less than 0.01%.
An exceptionally short signal path for a faster transient response.
Extremely rigid chassis construction to minimize the effects of external vibrations.
