The MOON SD-1 accepts an SDI (Serial Digital Interface) 480i input video signal and
outputs a DVI (Digital Video Interface) 480p signal, resolving a common problem ; The cable length
limitation for DVI connectivity. A DVI cable run exceeding several meters results in significant video
signal degredation, hence creating all sorts of complications when it comes to component placement
in relation to your TV or video projection unit.
Since the SDI output signal from a video source (i.e. Calypso DVD Player or Orbiter Universal Player)
can be run through a very long cable without incurring any signal loss, the MOON SD-1 allows
you to physically place your home theater compoenents exactly where you desire, without any concern
for diminished video performance. The SD-1 is placed right next to your TV/video projection
unit, where only a short DVI cable is required to connect the two together.
